      This really doesn’t tell the full story. Like Albania (and maybe some other baltic states) the population has dropped substantially in the 2020s – Kosovo’s back to 1981 levels now.

      There was a dramatic population decrease after Serbia invaded Kosovo in 1912. Some dead, some fled.

      (If the timeline had a bit more detail we would see another decrease in the 1990s, for the same reason)

      Are the maps before 1953 actually estimating how many people lived there on that territory or whatever was considered as Kosovo then because it did not look like that in the past

      Shocking high considering thos is after multiple wars, genocides and expulsion of basically all Serbs (also technically genocide ig)
