  1. Not surprised. We share a police culture with the Americans to a large extent, and the popular zeitgeist is that they’re a social class of their own that protects each other and stands above the law, which is for us proles.

    Looking her up, I see that she does work in the mental health and youth education spaces. If the allegation is true, that adds an extra layer to the already absolutely massive problem of prosecutors colluding with police to obtain convictions regardless of what can be proven.

    If proven, someone who perpetrates this kind of injustice shouldn’t be working with vulnerable communities who are disproportionately affected by miscarriages of justice like these. I see no other choice but to demand her resignation from all of these organizations as well if the allegations are true.
