      Yikes. Even Michael Jordan abandoned his “republicans buy shoes too” approach in the past decade after seeing all the heinous shit going on in our country.

      Ironic that Josh is probably alienating a huge part of his audience by saying this. Oh well, he’s a budget Timothy Olyphant in my book anyway.

      Celebs have a bigger platform that can reach more people. They also pay taxes it’s their right to be vocal even if you don’t like what they are saying.

      I however don’t believe we need any more celebrities running for office but again that’s their right if they choose to do so.

      Yes, from a purely capitalistic viewpoint, why would you risk losing some amount of potential revenue? This is why amorality is materially indistinguishable from immorality and why pretending politics is not inherent to culture itself is childish at best.

      I hate this take. It presumes politics always boils down to picking a side and mindlessly backing them. Real political discourse is about issues that are important to real people, and often they don’t divide the country. There are tons of issues that Congress has done little about that 80+% of the public are in favour of. Maybe lend your voice to those issues?

      In Russia, going against the government is not a branding issue. It is how people fall out of windows or end up in psychiatric institutions. Staying quiet might start as fear of losing fans, but it can turn into fear of losing your life. Do nothing now and it only gets worse later.
