    1. >prompting call to ban sulkies on public roads

Like the cunts would ever obey it if it were to ever happen.

Seems to be happening a couple of times a month now. Utterly disgusting behaviour. I assume if we dare to guess what group of people were involved we’ll be banned from the sub as was happening a few days ago?

    3. How many animals need to die needlessly before we put a stop to this?

According to TippFM it was a lone 13 year old driving the sulky. One of the car drivers was injured as well.
I’m so sick of seeing this happening regularly with nothing being done about it.

Saw one fella last night pulling a horse along beside him as he was driving a jeep.

The regular person is jailed or fined for animal cruelty. But not this particular type of person.

Should be banned but unless theres actual enforcement what is the point.

Bans would be ignored. No horse should be going full pelt on hard surfaces, used to be these communities cared for their horses.

Sulkies should be banned. It’s not about culture, it’s cruelty. When will something actually be done?

There’s a young mother fighting for her life after a savage beating only days ago in county Tipperary, and now we hear these individuals are getting their kicks by inflicting brutal, senseless cruelty on horses and pretending it’s a sport? Regardless of their background, regardless of their identity, have they no self~awareness? No decency? No empathy? …This savagery has got to stop.

    9. If there a law falls in the forest and nobody is around to enforce it…..

Do they need to be banned? Surely it’s already illegal to drive a horse and cart the wrong way down the road. Plus all the dopes following on along behind them are breaking every road law possible, wrong side of the road, no seatbelt, hanging out the windows, probaly nothing on the windscreen.

If it was anyone else at that craic they’d be jailed. Throw a working lad doing donuts at a quiet cross off the road for 2+ years, but you can do what you want on the road as long as it’s behind a horse.

We have to be one of the worst countries when it comes to animal welfare, practically third world level.

What with greyhounds, fox hunting, puppy farms, coursing, and fcuking sulky racing etc. Most of it aided and abeited or blind eye turned or even funded by the authorities.

    12. In the span of one week I saw two very young lads (12-15?) on sulkies on the other side of Clonmel and a sulky race in Horse and Jockey across both lanes of the road forcing oncoming traffic to have to veer into the ditch.

It’s happening too often now, the cruelty is the bottom line, nothing else. We need to be able to have conversations about this.

They should be banned. Cruel to the horses and a real danger to road users .

    15. Saw certain people abusing a horse before, called the guards and was told by the guards “ don’t ring this number again“. To them it’s a waste of time

The video that’s being shared is absolutely horrific. Poor horse and thank god for organisations like My lovely horse. You’d lose hope in humanity, really.

    17. You shouldn’t be able to have a horse in a city or on anything past a minor road.

I’ve seen so many horse related incidents in Smithfield area alone. Traffic being held up so two 10 year olds can play horsey at rush hour. Fair enough we’re in that grey zone where you can’t punish someone underage but just take the horse off them, take the carriage.

If you were a 10 year driving a car, they wouldn’t let you drive it home. Horses shouldn’t be kept in a city with no room and constant noise either. Just keep taking horses and carts off people until they stop doing it.
