      Rep. Joyce Beatty filed a motion at D.C. District Court on Wednesday asking the judge to issue an order preventing Donald Trump from naming the iconic venue after himself – insisting that Congress intended for there to be no room modification when it named the Kennedy Center after John F. Kennedy.

      “Renaming the Kennedy Center for President Trump – without any authorization from Congress – undermines the Center’s raison d’être, and frustrates its purpose as the only memorial to President Kennedy in Washington D.C.” the notion said.

      „Congress was particularly sensitive that no other names appear on the Center’s exterior walls, other than the signage designating the institution as a memorial for President Kennedy,“ continued the motion.

      Someone point out the namesake is in memorium, which means the person it is named after is dead.

      At the very least, hope people in a position to do so are making a list of things to „de-Trump“ the MOMENT he’s out of office!

      Back in the 60’s, they changed the name of the center to The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts. They called it „memorial“ because President Kennedy had died. Now it’s The Donald Trump and John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.

      I hope the next president removes Trump’s name from everything.

      And that they also push for a new law stating that no sitting president is ever allowed to name anything after themselves, nor is anyone else allowed to as a form of butt-kssing or bribery. Even add a moratorium. Something like: „Nothing shall be named after any president until 5 or more years has passed since they last held office“ or something like that.

      It’s yet another one of those things that we never would think we’d have to think about, because no one else has taken office before and thought „I’m going to start creating monuments to MYSELF!!“

      i don’t think trump cares about the kennedy center at all. this was personal, to a specific foreign agent. they will try to destroy that building out of hate.
