There goes the prestige for that award. Bill Maher is about as funny as a school bus accident.
No real comedian would step foot in the KC right now, meanwhile Maher’s been sleeping on the doorstep for weeks.

I used to watch him years ago because he was controversial, but I don’t think he is that funny or influential to receive this award. Steven Colbert or Bill Burr would be better suited for this award IMHO.

He wasn’t even invited to the Riyadh Comedy Festival because he’s so bad at his business.
I’ve done standup for more than 10 years. I’ve heard other comics refer to a litany of “hacks” as their initial inspiration to do standup. From the blue collar guys, to Jeff Dunham, to fucking Gallagher. Never, once, has any comic Ive met even said a positive thing about Maher. And comics like comics. Why on earth would you give an award to the least funny person to ever hold a mic?

How can someone who isnt and never has been funny get a comedy award?
If Bill Maher had even a quarter of the intelligence and integrity of someone like Jon Stewart this comment section and his reputation would still be in tact.
