Bezüglich des Gipfeltreffens zwischen Japan und den USA räumte der Premierminister dies ein "Zu meinen einleitenden Bemerkungen gibt es unterschiedliche Meinungen." Er fügte hinzu: "Japan hat die Vereinigten Staaten stets dabei unterstützt, eine Führungsrolle bei der Förderung von Frieden und Wohlstand in der internationalen Gemeinschaft zu übernehmen. Ich habe dies gegenüber Präsident Trump wiederholt." Sie erklärte weiter: "Wir wollen einen Trend in der internationalen öffentlichen Meinung schaffen, der eine sichere Schifffahrt in der Straße von Hormus gewährleistet."
