The U.S. administration has repeatedly tried to loosen the EU’s two rulebooks, the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act, which they say unfairly target American companies.
The EU denies that claim and has said it will not cave to pressure.
The Brussels Effect has [a wikipedia article](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brussels_effect) for a reason. Some legislation may get watered down, sure, but the tide is flowing in one direction only. Want access to the EU market? Play by EU laws.
This is easier said than done. Some US tech companies have no alternatives. Europe is more reliant on the US for weapons and tech. And its very hard in the EU to build anything.
As the famous saying goes, US creates, China replicates and Europe regulates.
