Been on perscription medications since I was 15 for anxiety and depression: Zoloft, Lexapro, Klonopin, Paxil, Wellbutrin, Xanax. Started cannabis edibles (mostly tablet form, sometimes gummies) back in 2020 at the age of 37 and it changed my life. All the calm, sleep, and generally positive demeanor and none of the side effects. It’s also cheaper at my local dispensary than prescriptions with my decent insurance (or at least close most of the time). I would never go back.
Really depends on the person, some people relax, others get more anxious
Absolutely not true for me. I get super nervous and paranoid even at low amounts. It ruins my sleep with ruminating thoughts too. I never understood how people feel calm or use it daily until I realized that groups of people can have wildly different experiences using any drug, medicine, etc.
It could reduce anxiety when taken and still increase baseline anxiety and exacerbate existing mental health issues at the same time so I wouldn’t take this as evidence that marijuana is good for mental health
Thc is not for everyone.
Cbd, cbg, cbn etc can be helpful alternatives.
I switched to cbd and my anxiety and sleep issues have improved in a week.
I smoked for over a decade before I quit, the older I got the more anxiety and paranoid I got when I smoked. No external factors involved, life was good, but it just was ruined for me unfortunately. I had quite a few friends in the same boat as well.
Incredibly weak study. Self-selecting sample, no control group, observational design, and driven by a conflict of interest. From the source article:
„Competing Interests
MoreBetter ([www.morebetter.ltd](http://www.morebetter.ltd)) is a software, data, and research firm that’s been running longitudinal studies on the use and efficacy of cannabinoids since 2016. MoreBetter created an app called Releaf App which is a free medical cannabis journaling app. … MoreBetter and CannaMD provided $1,000 participant compensation (split between MoreBetter and CannaMD) and MoreBetter funded: Participant recruitment costs, Software costs (from their own study management software, Penzai), and SMS costs to send the study questions to all participants for 45 days.“
Thank you, next
Well hold on, there’s a lot of law enforcement funding, prison funding, and pharmaceutical funding that says the Devil’s Cabbage has no medical value whatsoever.
I get more daily anxiety with daily use. Stress all day, come home, smoke, feel better, but only until the next morning. I’m less depressed and anxious when I’m fully sober for a long time, and that seems to be the case for many of my friends as well.
I was a heavy user for years, one day it gave me to most intense panic attack. Ever since even the passerby smell of it gives me anxiety. Actually smoking it puts me in a fight against a panic attack so I cold turkey stopped.
