I hunt a good bit and use this ammo. Absolutely zero chance that this type of bullet stopped when it hit his spine. I’ve seen exit wounds on deer the size of a quarter using 30-06. Shot a deer once and bullet went through the ribcage, both lungs, and blasted through the opposite shoulder.
There is zero explanation as to how a rifle like this didn’t tear straight through him.

.30 caliber is small caliber, maybe you were thinking low velocity. We sometimes call it medium caliber but that’s really only because .223 caliber (like 5.56mm) became the small caliber standard for rifles after vietnam.
