      I’m not worried yet. With the Marines and 82nd, the combined ground capable manpower isn’t even at 10k. If we’re invading, we still need lots of armor, artillery, helicopters, and a fuckton more manpower.

      Currently this is just posturing.

      The sad thing is even if they get wiped out in 2026/2028 the republican party will come roaring back in 2030, just like they did in 2010.

      Either US will pull off a mission impossible type of operation or going to fck up and have lots of casualities or even hostage situation.

      Three thousand men is, what, a regiment? In 2003, the Bush Administration invaded Iraq with between 160,000 and 175,000 soldiers and marines, depending how you count up the allied contingents and where you draw the line between invading forces and follow-up forces.

      The Trump Administration *may* be stupid enough to think a regiment is going to solve this, but all I’m seeing is the first three thousand men who the next ten thousand are going to have to go in to reinforce, secure, and support.

      Ah, well. It could have been worse. Kamala Harris had an irritating laugh, you guys. We really dodged a bullet there.

      This will likely cause lots of casualties! Iran has been preparing for this day for decades. Any meaningful war will require amassing at least a million troops. Which currently US military doesn’t have and no allies are willing to fight alongside the US either.
