      Seems like Polymarket and Kalshi’s only point in existing is for people with insider knowledge to make money off of the suckers left holding the bag.

      1 million is small beans. probably some low level aide, not connected enough to not face consequences. very risky, could be charged with disclosure of classified information or smth like that.

      I was at a conference with Polymarket’s CEO a couple weeks ago and he pitched this as a good thing. “People in Iran are telling me that they look to Polymarket bets on missile strikes to know when to shelter. They’re so thankful that they have this information”

      Idk for every remarkably accurate bet there are thousands of inaccurate or almost made it bets.

      Article is paywalled. If this is the bet that there will be a ceasefire within the next week, Isn’t this just a staffer believing his bosses lies? Is everyone here agreeing there will be a mutual ceasefire by the 31st?

      Republicans want IDs to visit every other kind of website. Would seem pretty logical that the people making these bets should have their identities easily confirmed, and if they have links to people in the administration (something tells me they won’t even be good at hiding it), then that should be pretty easy to prove.
