This seems more like a nod to modern social dynamics, and justice. When the former policy came into place, it favored the mother because she cared for the child while the father was at work.
It will effectively end ghosting the parent, and rendering them destitute.
But, what about the guys who had a handful of a partner? Some of these guys (and gals) are broken.
So the drop off can be designated by a government agent, or community agent in the case of special students that have a half-day school.
That should take care of all fears.
While I don’t think I’m heading towards divorce in a hurry, I have had times when the previous law put the creeps up me. This actually does assuage some of that. I hope that it genuinely helps improve things for others who are going through hard times related to it.
