I don’t understand why people call this bad for the US
The US doesn’t use Hormuz oil. The problem begins at China and India being blocked, then competing with the US for its oil sources
So if China and India are getting oil, there is no competition on the US oil, this should put a lot of downward pressure on the price
A nice bonus would be tracking these tankers shows you the safe passage, they know where the mines are, unless they’re suicidal

The US and even Europe don’t really use Irans oil or fertiliser it was asian countries. What hurt us was the overall effect of oil not reaching Asia on the global markets.
If Iran is allowing the passage of oil back to the China and India isn’t this just how things were before the war except the US is still bombing them?
So isn’t this purely beneficial to the US and not beneficial in anyway to Iran or am I missing something?

Iran is smart. They will not be adding a $2M transit tariff to their own oil to their friendly partners.
They will however add $2M fee to the remaining GCC countries as a negotiating tactic to stop trading in US$ and eventually punt US bases. GCC countries are not economically diverse and rely on oil trading so they will be motivated to get that cash cow milking again.
t-Rump has midterms to think about and its starting to sink in.
