Kanadas Pipeline-Plan weckt Interesse im Nahen Osten und in Asien, sagt Premierminister von Alberta

>The Carney government has pledged to strengthen Canada’s industrial carbon pricing regime, but Smith said Canada’s oil industry cannot increase production if the new system is too stringent, putting Canadian oil companies at a competitive disadvantage to their ⁠U.S. competitors.

Seems like a no brainer right? Remove the carbon tax and let us sell oil to the world. We do it cleaner than anywhere else so if you really want to save the climate, having the world turn to us is the safer alternative. The ‚carbon pricing regime‘ is doing more harm to the globe than good. 

Alberta in December: This MOU is a huge win for us, we got the Liberal government to back down on most of their damaging policies and we’re very happy with it even though we had to compromise on some parts, and we know for a fact that it will get industry to come to the table for a pipeline.

Alberta now: We want you to go even further, and we shouldn’t have to meet the commitments that we explicitly agreed to in the MOU, and we don’t believe that a pipeline will get built without getting rid of the stuff that we committed to.

Remind me again: why is it that people think the federal government are the bad guys here?
