US officials no longer believe it is possible to achieve the war’s original goals of overthrowing the Iranian regime and putting its nuclear program permanently out of reach. The war aim is now re-opening a strait that would not have been closed were it not for the war itself.
Is it possible to actually „hold“ Hormuz? I think it’s very close to the coastline of Iran so anyone can fire anything on ships passing through?
