      If I were a marine, I’d be shitting my pants now.

      Here are the reasons:

      * I am invading a foreign country with no plan of action and no support
      * There will be a couple of thousands of us sent there, against an overwhelming force of fighters, not to mention pissed-off civilians
      * My country killed 160+ children for starters and the situation is like kicking a hornet’s nest in your underwear only.
      * I know if I will be captured, there will be no help coming, no exchange of prisoners as my own government said – no quarters.
      * I would ask myself who is having my back – Pete Hegseth? That idiot drunk who cares only about soldiers being clean-shaved and having a certain waist circumference? Trump? Who regularly abandons his allies, called soldiers losers and dodged the draft? Never served a day? These 2?
      * I would know I am very expandeable and may be used as an excuse to show that Iranians are maniacs and deserve to be nuked.

      There are probably many more, but this is what comes to mind first. Better save the last bullet.

      Iran is not about to let up, under any circumstance. Their regime absolutely does not give a shit, and just like Israel, is prepared to take everyone else down with them. Ultimately, this will need to come down to a ground confrontation, and the US knows this. That, is why the US and Israel are really, really not keen to deploy ground troops, because they know that it will be absolute carnage. And Iran knows that all it has to do is slaughter a couple of thousand of US troops in ground combat, and effectively it has „won“, despite the overwhelming damage to its infrastructure and military. War against Iran has been wargamed endlessly, and it always predicted that Iran would hold out and prevail. Which is why no previous POTUS has been stupid enough to wage war against Iran.
