Note that one of the 60 countries being investigated for „unfair trade/labour practices“(and these investigations are just a formality because every country will be found guilty before the 150-day limit on the existing tariffs ends) is the UK. We were the first country to sign a trade deal with Trump at 10% tariffs. Now we’re at 15% and after these formalities he’ll be able to raise them up to 100%.

It’s not clear if Trump is even interested in trade deals anymore considering that he seems to be preparing to violate all those he signed last year. I’ve read elsewhere that he’s now decided he needs maximum tariffs to compensate for how much he has increased the deficit, which just hit $39 trillion and will probably cross $40 trillion next year.

So between all these regime change wars and tariffs, America will be waging nonstop economic warfare against the rest of the world for another 3 years. Perhaps the underlying MAGA logic is that if Trump is going to destroy our economy, all the other economies must suffer as well.

Except Israel of course; they’ll probably get a generous aid package after the war in Iran ends.
