It must be the weather and low electricity prices helping to make these grow houses cheap to run. I find it really hard to believe it is happening at scale but will have to wait for an archive to read the article.

  2. If only these types of situations could be avoided…it would be great if there was a way for people to grow the plant without risk of criminality, that brings in more taxes.

  3. Requisite legalise it and tax it comment. It won’t make this totally go away, but legalisation and taxation will reduce it and fund law enforcement.

Government response is a new tax on houses, electricity and having kids to combat this.

My wife and I were trafficked to Ireland from the UK to work for a business in Dublin in 2023.
I soon learned they were criminals when I learned they sold contraband, but I assumed it was fairly small time and innocuous.
So I didn’t go to police when they threatened me with violence. On my first day.
But I started recording. EVERYTHING. Recording conversations, documenting suspicious activity.
Then when they threatened me again…
I threatened to blow the whistle, and they tried to have me killed.
I escaped masked assailants on foot and went to police. They buried my reports and the criminals I reported buried my assailant.
    His name was Joshua Itseli.
My name is Comrade Mac and I’m going to keep telling this story until the police act on my reports and lock up my attackers.
Either way evidence is with the Ombudsman now, so authorities are just kicking the can down the road until the story is public.
Soon I’ll get answers as to why: When I reported criminals to police, I was harassed by Gards, had property stolen and was falsely arrested; While the criminals I reported, with eyewitnesses and evidence enjoy complete immunity to this day.
Police still wouldn’t talk when my attacker showed up dead.
Police still wouldn’t talk when a young doctor was murdered at the same location I was attacked a year later.
Police dropped all of their false charges when I stood up in court and said the word ‚ombudsman‘.
The way they are handling things, I suspect by the end of this case, the state will be paying for my retirement.
