Another classic Starmer U-turn once again, pissing off everyone and gaining nothing as now Trump has basically said he’s not going to bother solving it any way and he’s pissed at us regardless, but now has also pissed off Iran.

    > In a post on X, he said most British citizens “do not want any part” in what he called a “US-Israel war of choice,”

Well he seems to have a better grasp on what the British public want than Starmer. Finally a politician we can get behind.

So, initially, the Iranian regime attacked all civilian ships (war crime), they attacked all countries (and not only the US/Israel), they also attacked UK bases, including the Cyprus one.

Then Iran declared starting a wide-scale terror attack in parks (or what they said?) – https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/1ryw8h1/irans_military_warns_parks_recreational_areas_and/

And finally, the UK entered into the war to fix the problem; however, Iranian regime supporters continue to scare people.

Why doesn’t that Iranian politician see that Starmer’s actions are just consequences of what Iran did?

  5. This seems like a measured response to me but someone let me know if I’m missing something.

Letting the Americans use our resources to target military batteries/systems targeting the Straits of Hormuz but not sending troops or ships seems directly proportionate to our (and the worlds) goal of keeping trade flowing.

The Iranians are already targeting everyone and anyone (except their direct allies) so it feels like business as usual.

That said, I hope the security services have their beady eyes on all the IIRG assets and cells that are undoubtedly embedded in the UK.

I’m trying to understand the rationale behind Starmers decision – I think it was a poor one to be honest. But the way things are going more and more countries are being dragged into this war.

It is massively in the UKs interest to have the strait unblocked, and its clear Iran wont do it out of the kindness of their own heart.

Has the US fuck up forced our hand?

Iran already launched missiles at a UK base.

The UK is hardly going to sit back and just hope they don’t do it again.

Iran is also targeting allies in the region including civil targets and important infrastructure.

The UK government is handling the situation as well as can be expected.

Iran has not been attacking other countries as people are claiming. They have attacked bases being used by the US.

I think that allowing the US to use British bases to bomb missile launch site etc that are targeting shipping is a fair compromise.

Obviously it would be better if we didn’t get involved at all, but this is real life and that just isn’t on the table unless people are happy for oil prices to continue to rise.

  11. I would absolutely not be surprised to see an increase in Islamic terrorism in the UK off of the back of this war.

I’m against allowing the US to use our bases. You’re either involved or you’re not and as far as I can tell their missiles did little to no damage to our bases. A diplomatic response would have sufficed.

The warning might be „chilling“ and imaginative according to this news media, but the reality is Iranian lives are being killed due to UK support. The UK and Wuripe needs to withdraw its support of America.

This thread is fascinating to me.

It’s full of people who haven’t lived through a time of war against even a modestly-powerful adversary, and have no experience with the idea that the enemy might strike back at their country as a natural part of it. They seem to find the whole idea intolerably rude.

Like, I hate the Iranian regime too, but this sort of thing was obviously going to happen.

This has an eerie feeling of Libya all over again.

Has anyone checked in on the IRA recently?

Just wait till a ballistic missile is fired by a rogue officer and it hits portsmouth naval base. Then nato triggers article 5 and theres a full scale mobilisation

This is kier starmer putting British lives at risk to please his Israeli masters

They’ve cracked the whip and the turd followed

They’re cracking the whip hard on kier who must be desperate to please them but knows how unpopular this will be.

The facts coming out that this attack wasn’t by Iran if it’s true is really worrying and shows the level of false flags they’re prepared to do to convince the uk public that being active in this war is the way to go.
