  1. I use this app when I bored, I’m not giving them my Face ID or Touch ID. I can find something else to do when bored that doesn’t require that

Edit: people are saying I don’t have to give reddit my ID, I can just give Apple my ID like that isn’t the same problem lol. I’ll protect my ID better than any company ever would be able to.

Stop letting people hide their post history. That’s an extremely simple way to allow people to see if they’re interacting with a bot or not.

Reddit is weighing identity verification methods to combat its [real user] problem.

You are not gonna get the ‚head shot‘ you think you will, Reddit. Yes there will be penis.

  5. That would certainly solve the problem by ensuring you get rid of the last of the human users

  6. Face ID and Touch ID don’t send your biometric data anywhere when activated. It’s just on-device authentication. Sounds ok to me relative to other potential ID verification methods.

  7. Reddit has been on it’s way out. Was hanging by a thread after they got rid of third party apps, their site and algorithm suck and never show me what I truly want to see. But this is the nail in the coffin.

Yeah I will delete everything and never look back if that happens

I’ve been here for 12 years, I’ll leave if they introduce this

Seems that it is perfect time to finally start moving to dark web. Smart people saw all this verification stuff coming 15 years ago. Now even cpt. Obvious (my rank) can see it.

  11. For them the bot “problem” is a good thing in terms of advertising dollars. However honest discourse on this platform, especially regarding divisive topics, is pretty much worthless and impossible so they need a solution or this platform will die off.

Then I will delete reddit. Just like I deleted twitter and all meta social medias

  13. Sounds more like they want faces to make the data more valuable to Palantir and the current administration.
