(Edit: I can’t remember a story about Lithuanians – yes, there’s also a minority in Poland – doing anything weird. Poles in Lithuania, on the other hand… 🤦)
This is not really a Polish issue, just a conflict between Lithuanian state and local government. Internal affair.
