It’s crazy how bombs and rockets are so accurate these days. You can just tell it to go right through the front window on a floating vessel and it just does it.
All u need a small fishing boat to lay one mine in hormuz. Iran have 3000 sea mines jn their inventory and 80 000 small fishing boats on its shores. I think US will have to fly every day next 50 years to hit those fishing boats…lol
The problem with naval mines is almost any ship can lay them with a few or no modifications. The main limiting factor is how many mines a ship can carry without being overburdened. But it’s not a complicated process. Iran has a history going back to the 80s of using fishing trawlers and other civilian ships to lay them. The best way to deal with mines it to blow them up in storage before they get dispersed too much. Playing whack a mole with potential minelayers is…not ideal.
