There were a lot of people reacting to the story of his claim that he had no plans for this yesterday. They all seemed to say something about „so, boots on the ground after business close tomorrow“.

It’s too easy to read this asshole.

  2. Trump exposed it himself. He is *so bad* at hiding stuff. He put the top-secret classified documents he stole 6 years ago in his *bathroom* at Mar-A-Laga.

American servicemembers are going to die in large numbers if we put boots on the ground. I am not one to pray, but I will pray for them. Trump does not care how many Americans die for his causes. That alone should make you unfit for office. Time for congress to remove him from office couldn’t be more dire.

By the way, Trump lies to raise the markets on Fridays and then does the worst things possible over the weekend.

  5. There are like 3 threads with wildly different opinons Trump has had in the last hour. I just came over from one where he was talking about winding the war down.

I mean. .. Trump is famously full of more shit than a manure factory. Duh

  7. During Carter administration special forces went to Iran to try to rescue the embassy hostages. At that time Iran didn’t have a real military force. It didn’t go too well for the special forces.

This is what you get with the right wing religous death cult at the helm. Enjoy it MAGA, your loved ones in the military are going to die for nothing.

With such a track record, can’t help but worry that when Trump said that nukes wouldn’t be used against Iran…well, better to not further manifest such horror.

  10. Hitler was saying he’d never invade his neighbours on the radio while the tanks were rolling over the border.

    The similarities are beyond frightening

  11. *“(4) Never allowing Iran to get even close to nuclear capability“*

We all knew Iran was nowhere close to nuclear arms, and Trump just made a liar (who knew?) out of himself once again.

If he says he won’t. He will. He is a festering STI on humanity.

If that happens, get ready for more expensive oil. MAGA will say they are okay with it with the biggest forced smile they can muster.

  14. Trump lies to the American public again and intends to sacrifice soldiers for a war he started without approval and in spite of negative sentiment from the population.

  15. I don’t see the regular rank and file following this. War declared by Monday, Military coup by Wednesday?

All the bad news happens friday night or saturday when the markets close. It’s literally every fcking week . Trump admin is completely lost in idiocy — dude said he had a 100% approval poll for war. Like, what?

He’s just pissed theyre still selling oil wherever they want but he can only suck an empty pipe. His ground force threat is typical Trump. Just before he tacos. His familys ( insider) trades get maximum returns. I can say this because his 20 year old son made a 40million dollar trade recently the day before his bombing iran. Where did Baron get 40 million? Who will look into it?Why are we in Iran. Does Trump know Iran had 45000 missiles and hasn’t started using the modern ones yet. Putting 5k troops on a small island is not a good idea.

its crazy how much the evangelicals are moving goalposts over this war

originally trump was supposed to declare peace, it blows up into a war, and betray israel like the antichrist does in the prophecy and force jesus to come back. They tried since the first term.

then its america invades iran to defeat it so super israel can show up and jesus comes back to rule the earth, no betrayal. So boots on the ground.

but the whole prophecy they want so badly says people on earth will suffer the most painful end anyone in history could experience. Its an APOCALYPSE ffs and the republicans want to live through that.

its like rapturetok all over again, but STILL no one asks why a large portion of American society wants to die and take everyone else with them based on something made up 200 years ago and easily proven to be false scripture.

a better question is why so many republicans recording themselves in tears they woke up alive and posting those videos on the internet and people still take them seriously like its normal.

not even Rome was this crazy and they drank out of lead pipes

  19. Look. We are 100% going to put boots on the ground. Trump likes the idea of doing whatever he wants and no one being able to stop him. Plus we’ve already stuck the tip in, so we’re goin balls deep now. We’re gonna totally dismantle the government and get that oil. A lot of people are going to suffer. But heu, it’s a sweet chess piece for the mantle.

Airborne guy came into work looking for storage space because he was being deployed on a mission for 6 to 9 months not two days ago. Ft Carson has been setting fires all over the base. Somethings about to pop off.

Maybe someone signed up to one of Trump’s National Security Briefing emails and got the plans

  23. This idiots dementia is literally causing him to make different decisions throughout the day. This has to stop.

  24. The „Elite Troops“ part is what’s scary. They aren’t planning a standard occupation; they’re planning a decapitation strike. But we saw how „limited engagements“ worked out in 2003. You can’t just „go in and out“ of a country three times the size of Iraq with a sophisticated military.

  25. Choice-of-SteinsGate on

    „Secret“ huh?

The truth is, Trump NEVER had a plan for a drawn out war and the US hasn’t accomplished any of its constantly shifting „objectives“ in the region.

Iranians currently have no power to mount resistance, but earlier in the war, Trump told them to „rise up“ and „overtake“ their government so he could avoid having to take responsibility for the chaos and death that would have certainly followed. No doubt an effort to wipe his hands clean of the bloody aftermath of a war he started as he desperately searched for an offramp because we can’t eliminate a nuclear threat that *never existed.*

He publicly called on the Iranian people to march to their deaths because he had no other strategy. The violent regime has not „changed“ and Iranians are far from being „liberated“ from their oppressors.

And now he’s clearly taking the inevitable step towards ground invasion because there was never any other plausible way to facilitate structural change and steal whatever Uranium Iran has left in the process.

Meanwhile, one minute Trump is pleading for help from allies that he’s been alienating for the past year, the next he’s insulting them like how a temperamental child bully might behave.

Trump obviously didn’t prepare for certain… eventualities.

He dismissed concerns about Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz and bombing neighboring countries. Two retaliatory moves he was explicitly warned about and anyone could have predicted.

Trump and his cabinet’s messaging about the pretext for this war has been wildly inconsistent, and now the US government is demanding that the media report on the war positively or else risk losing their license.

Trump’s stated „plans“ are vague at best, while Iran refuses to „unconditionally surrender“ and submit to his empty threats on social media.

Instead, the Iranian regime has named Ayatollah’s pigheaded son as his successor, who is just as much a hardliner as his father, and who we’ve managed to radicalize all the more after killing his entire family. He also has deep connections and sway with the IRGC while at least 20% of Iranians support the Islamic Republic.

Most Americans don’t understand why we’re at war with Iran in the first place.

Trump’s only real concern has been rising oil prices and market volatility because he’s more worried about his ratings and the interests of his richest backers and investors than the lives of our soldiers.

In the meantime, the oppressive, theocratic regime remains intact.

War is expanding in the middle east and conflicts are being reignited between forces like Israel and Hezbollah.

Iran’s nuclear/missile program *never* posed an imminent threat to our country according to all US intelligence on the matter. But if Iran needed a reason for upscaling its nuclear missile capabilities, Trump/Netanyahu just gave them one.

DNI Tulsi Gabbard Testified *before congress* that „the Intelligence Community continues to assess that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon.“

Even a top US counterterrorism official JUST RESIGNED, stating that „Iran never posed an imminent threat.“

Nevertheless, the US/Israel are bombing Iran indiscriminately with no regard for the civilians they’re supposed to be „liberating.“

Estimates show that between 1,300-3,000 civilians have already died due to this war; including 160 **children** at the hands of the US.

Residents of Tehran are terrified as bombings intensify and as strikes draw closer to their homes.

Iranians doubt whether „regime change“ is even realistic and whether this war will leave them better off than when it began

The US has also squandered expensive military equipment, technology and weapons and the war itself comes with a massive price tag for the American taxpayer.

And now the Trump administration is demanding $200 billion more for this war on top of the already obscene amount of funds included in the defense budget.

For perspective, the US sent a total of $180 billion in aid to Ukraine under Biden.

So I don’t want to hear anymore „whatabouting“ from Trump supporters. Especially considering how that $180 billion went towards helping Ukraine preserve its independence and defend itself against a Russian aggressor hell bent on annexing as much territory as possible, while the former is going towards funding another open-ended, needless foreign war in the middle east without any justifiable or coherent pretext.

To that point, US troops are dead; we’re killing noncombatants and children; bombing hospitals and schools, heritage sites, and civilian infrastructure.

This war’s death/casualty toll will only continue to climb as the conflict drags on and will so aggressively if or when we put boots on the ground.

As far as the economy goes, global trade is facing disruptions, markets are shocked, oil prices are surging, and Trump’s policies were exploding the debt and deficit before the war even started.

We’ve angered both our middle east and European allies and tarnished whatever good will we had left on the world stage after bombing Iran *twice* in the middle of negotiations. Which doesn’t exactly bode well for the future of negotiations with any country…

Not to mention Trump’s petty demeanor towards allies who are voicing concerns or who are hesitant to get involved, and his dismissal of explicit warnings about how this war will affect Iran’s neighboring countries and European nations who are feeling the impacts of these global trade disruptions.

Trump Ignored lessons from history about what happens when we try „regime change“ in the middle east. He launched us into another illegal foreign war under false pretenses without consulting with Congress or our allies, and a war with little to no support from the American people, despite the White House insisting otherwise.

A war that has always been one of choice, not of necessity.

  26. Ghostrider556 on

I really don’t think they will. If you see massive troop movements then maybe but you can’t hide deployments of that scale. With allies basically not participating the US would probably need to deploy 150,000 personnel or more to staff up a ground invasion. Frankly speaking, if the US really wanted to commit its full might to this they would win but the cost of lives and money would be tremendous. Hell just the cost to move the needed equipment to that area for staging would be insane. And it’s not like Iraq where it’s basically all flat and you can drive armored columns where you feel like. Russia and China also love the removal of US assets from their geographic zones and would step up support to Iran so that it can drag out for as long as humanly possible.

  27. GatoPreto83 on

He has stated it pretty clearly HE HAS NO PLAN. Thank you for your attention on this matter.

  28. Do-Si-Donts on

Iran knows that all they need to do to win is hold on and keep threatening oil tankers until early summer when energy demand starts to peak. Trump can’t just back out though because it would make him look weak. Trump is therefore forced (by his own stupid actions) to escalate and send in ground troops, some of whom will die.

  29. SlimReaper85 on

I predict he’s going to cut bait on this…

There’s no upside. He’s losing the MAGA crowd on this war and it’s destroying the oil market.

There’s no fast way for this war to end it will continue for years and will be 10x as devastating as Afghanistan or Iraq in American lives.

He ain’t got the heart for that… he went into this thinking it would be over in a few weeks.
