      good for them!!! the amount of hate arirang has gotten on socials so far makes it easy to forget just how massive they are and just how beloved they are by the general public. really good reminder what an echo chamber these circles can become.

      This is more than deserved! Arirang as of now has topped the Apple Music Albums chart in more than 100 countries, the only album by a group to ever do so and the only 2026 album to achieve that.

      I am just happy that the reception for ARIRANG has been amazing accross the board. It debuted with 89 points on Metacritic based on 4 reviews so far and it is looking like it will be one of the most critically acclaimed album by a K-artist.

      Commercially, it is also doing crazy numbers, selling 3.98 million units on its first day on Hanteo and with the title track debuting directly at number 1 on Melon top 100 making BTS the first act to have 2 songs debut directly on Melon Top 100 (Yet to come and SWIM). All the other tracks also debuted straight into top 40 on melon top 100 with 8 of the other tracks also having the highest debut ULs for any track in 2026. SWIM also debuted directly at number 1 on Melon Daily charts, with body to body debuting at #4 and Hooligan at #11 making them the top 3 highest debuts on the chart this year.

      ARIRANG is also the first album by a Korean/Asian artist to ever top the US Apple Music charts, breaking the record previously held by BTS’s own MOTS 7 which peaked at #2. It is also the fastest album by any group to top the chart.

      ARIRANG also recorded the biggest debut for any album by a K act on Amazon Music in just 13 hours of release.

      All the tracks have also just debuted top 20 on both worldwide itunes and European iTunes chart with SWIM debuting at #1 followed by Body To Body. The tracks also occupy the top 15 on US itunes with SWIM at number 1.

      I have shared on the album discussion threads how much I love the album and it feels wonderful to see that sentiment being reflected and I cant wait to see the insane growth BTS will experience during this era.

      As an Apple Music user, it was played several times yesterday and will be for the foreseeable future. Hearing this album in atmos with HD headphones was an experience.

      I remember when people were saying that BTS numbers are inorganic because they’re only doing well on Spotify and YouTube and Apple Music is the only legitimate source of success yet here we are now lmao
