I used to go to Mark Twain State Park in Missouri, and the Walmart we would stop at had a shed in the parking lot for the local Amish (or Mennonite, not sure which) could park their buggies while they shopped.

Are they good neighbors? I’m just wondering what it’s like. They seem pretty private and respectful.

I was surprised how many were in Florida. They like to ride Amtrak.

Allen County, KY needs to be shaded in. There’s quite a fairly decent Amish community there.

My ex-mother in law is one communities taxi service in Missouri. They schedule rides to work sites or doctor visits, etc. They pay and also trade out, like butter, baked items, sewing etc for the rides. Friendly, and she tells us stories of how they live, which is interesting and humble.

I remember growing up next to one of those counties and seeing an Amish family in Walmart as a kid.
