Basically if theres a Poilievre type candidate (for the Liberals and in sheer persona, not ideology who can point out everything going bad with Ford, then it gets to the point where its a race).
He is folksy and gratingly so, however he is getting by with the lack of an alternative. Til there is one, and that is not likely at this point the only real way hes in any danger is if theres a scandal that even his own base wont forgive him for.
I suspect Ford’s eventual downfall will be similar to Legault’s. You can stay popular for a long time by doling out steady drops of culture war, especially during times of uncertainty while the opposition is in shambles. But if things start to return to normalcy and people still don’t feel enough material improvement, they will eventually get frustrated by accumulated scandals and mismanagement of basic public services.
That opens the lane for a babyfaced pretty boy to ride in promising change, smiles, a focus on bread and butter issues, etc. Nate, u up?
Considering these voters won’t vote NDP because of ‚Rae Days‘, they are stuck with Ford unless the Liberals pick someone good enough.
