that seems like a weird one, its correctly identifying people on watchlists but has an easier time recognising black people? did i read that correctly?
Out of 3 million people scanned, only 10 were actually bothered by the police.
Not exactly new news here, the racial bias has been known for quite some time. What’s puzzled me is how it got rolled out here without that ever being properly addressed.
The problem isn’t the Orwellian nightmare, it’s that not everyone might get the same level of nightmare.
It’s a small win, but I appreciate that they rolled it back at least…
Now I hope they proceed to abandon the project, and not attempt a second roll out.
In a time where we weren’t living through events every 2 days that were stupid beyond belief, this would be a good satirical sitcom episode.
