The obsession with the Price has to end , weve been chasing that for a decade while ignoring all the other factors that contribute to making housing unaffordable.

Homes arent and investment, they are essential to life in canada. The value of houses needs to go down, full stop. People wont be losing money because prices shouldn’t have got this high in the first place. Even if they are considered an investment, prices in stock arent guaranteed to always go up so why do ppl think houses should only go up? Bonkers. There’s risks to everything, this is no different.

Sure af wasn’t lost for those who already owned or bought in before the pandemic.

We just need more public and transitional housing. It’s so fucking simple. The assetization of needs is exactly what we need to avoid as Canada become more and more enticing for foreign investment.

Is there any other product where its purchaser would not only expect, but *feel entitled to*, its value increasing year-over-year?
Crazy that this kind of mentality is so entrenched you will see pieces like this state it with zero self-awareness
