      Yeah, can’t imagine why they left her out.

      I get it but I also don’t get it because she was a huge movie star.

      They literally award/nominate shitty people every year.

      Sean Penn and Brad Pitt are both violent thugs.

      So I feel that they should stop with the hypocritical bullshit. Either hold everyone accountable or don’t even bother.

      Oh for goodness sake, she is listed on the academy’s website. This is all about page clicks, let’s try to get everyone angry about the injustice done to Brigitte Bardot. The fact is „In Memoriam“ is a curated TV spot. You’re never going to make everyone happy, someone will always complain about the editorial decisions. If you want to see who died, go to the website.

      She also didn’t do Hollywood movies, she pretty much stuck to French films (outside of a cameo in Dear Brigitte I believe) so it makes sense that the academy (a US/Hollywood based org) didn’t include her simply based on that fact. Her reputation certainly didn’t help either but I’m assuming the first part was the major reason.

      Of course French press which is mostly made of far right papers now, would be shocked about that. Racism is fine for them, even promoted so when an other big media outlet doesn’t follow their xenophobic footsteps, they ask why and get petty lmao

      because she did French movies. They left out Eric Dane and James Van Der Beek cuz they were more known for TV
