    1. Why does the UK need that show? They have umpteen options open to them, and they choose to import that?

      I don’t think it’s a show that was ever really popular here so it’ll be interesting to see how it’s received. I think it’s going to bomb but who knows

      I’m ok with this and the closer we are to the start date, the more I’m excited for this attempt.

      Sky are putting a lot of effort into this with a decent starting cast of emerging comedians and an eye-catching lineup of guest hosts and musical guests. It makes a lot of sense to start with Tina Fey as the first guest: she’s probably the most famous person to have ever come from the show and has international success with her comedy (ie. she co-created ‘Mean Girls’ and its musical). Granted, she may need to adjust her jokes and style to suit a British style of comedy more (toning down the optimism, smiley and shouty American style comedy) but I can see it working well.
