Ehhhh. The magic is gone. An animated series wont have the same umph as the show. But it’s better than a live action.
It sucks that Whedon will get a paycheque for this.
You could have just moved on.
Fillion and Tudyk are both pretty good voice actors, I could see this working.
I’m a pretty massive Firefly fan but hearing it was going to be animated really took the wind out of my sails on this one.
The show was carried by the on screen charisma of it’s actors, that’s the magic that was Firefly and I have my doubts it will translate to animation.
And I say this as someone who is loves the adult animation we have today. Critical Role, Invincible, Rick and Morty, etc.
I’m pretty hyped. I think in 2026 animation is the best place for the crew of the Serenity. I also wonder how Tudyk will fit into it. My dream scenario would be him voicing a new side character in every episode, going a bit meta with it.
Waited 20 yrs for an animated season 2. I get the reasons but i don’t care, I’m disappointed
This is the best way that anyone would get what they want…. Let them cook and if it’s good then be happy.
We need more animation targeted for adults, less live action adaptations.
No one is ever happy about anything anymore. I’m excited to see what they have in store
