      They Quentin Tarantinoed him. 1994 all over again. This means Ryan Coogler has some amazing things to come.

      I just don’t understand. I think someone literally needs to write an essay for me on why it is a good film. Clearly I missed out on some cultural aspect key to it. Like, I’m a white American and don’t like blues music, is it just “not for me?” The movie is stone cold boring as well and there isn’t a single character in it who I found even a shred likeable or interesting. After a literal hour of maybe the worst period piece I’ve ever tried to watch, it suddenly shifts to a passable vampire movie populated by the same terrible characters. Michale B Jordan was… not good.

      So again, is there something that I just don’t get because of my background? It truly does not make sense to me.

      It was a good story right up to the point where he ran out of ideas and went with … „and then, and then… a monster comes!“ You could have turned the script over to the nearest 8 year old to finish.
