      Okay, say hypothetically Trump is mad at Iran for a human rights reason. The solution isn’t throwing bombs and stomping your feet. You send representatives to have a discussion about this and provide facts that help create understanding and acceptance on this subject.

      Meanwhile the United States is cutting access to healthcare, welfare, etc. leaving many, including LGBTQ+, to uncertainty & a slow death. Also ICE is executing people on the streets.

      As a gay guy, I’ve always laughed at this talking point as if the majority of republicans don’t believe, at a minimum, that I don’t deserve the same rights as everyone else. A good portion of them think I should be jailed or killed for being gay. So I’m not really seeing how they’re any better than the Muslims, and that’s setting aside the fact that every single instance of me being mistreated due to my sexuality has come from white, conservative Christians.

      Christian nationalists love to use Iran as a talking point to say they’re not bigots and queerphobes, but their policies literally call for genocide of trans and all LGBTQIA+ people. Christian nationalists literally mirror the Taliban in terms of intent to kill us. They’re doing it to trans people. That’s why I call them the Y’all Qaeda. They would if they could just line up every trans person and place them in gas chambers. Project 2025 literally called all trans and LGBTQIA+ people „pornographic“, deserving of death. Spare me the sanctimony, Heritage Foundation.

      I love when conservatives try to point out horrible stuff that occurs in other countries to drum up support when they’d love to see those things happen here. Conservatives, especially religious fundamentalist based conservatives across the globe typically have very similar beliefs when you drill down to their core. Much of what they argue about is the window dressing and who gets the money and power.

      Trump doesn’t give a shit about anyone getting thrown off a roof. He knows decent people do, and he wants to use that to get the incredibly indecent thing he wants: support for the violent mess he’s making in Iran and the whole Middle East.

      This is just an especially obvious example of the constant bad faith arguments we see from Republicans. They screamed freedom of speech *for getting banned for violating the terms of private companies* and now work to censor the press and turn it into propaganda. Trump ran on no wars because *we* were tired of endless, pointless, costly war. His first administration didn’t stop „Obama’s“ drone strikes. It stopped reporting them to the public (look it up). Now he’s starting wars.

      Also, where would we be now if Trump hadn’t pulled out of the *globally supported* Iran nuclear deal, he wouldn’t even have had the opportunity to start this war to begin with. But Obama made the deal for Russia, The EU, China and others to all be involved in keeping Iran from developing nuclear weapons, so it has to go, according to Trump.
