Nein, *die Stadt Chongqing* hat nicht die Größe Österreichs. Chinesische Bots sind verrückt nach diesem U-Boot.

  1. Frankly, I think it’s more likely to be misinformed/sensationalist Westerners

  2. The entire purpose of the post was to point out the absurd size of Chinese municipalities.

  3. But why would you attribute the error to „Chinese bots“ rather than a simple misinterpretation of international definitions of municipalities? Do you think the latest 5 year plan includes a strategy to confuse English speakers about how built-up urban environments relate to administrative boundaries for… reasons?

  4. Hackeringerinho on

This whole sub is Russian or Chinese propaganda since couple of years.

  5. Its to do with the way the area is defined. Its a ‚municipality‘, and there is no lower division. The whole area enclosed by the shape that is larger than austria is indistinguished legally from the ‚city‘. It is misleading, but understandably *not* from chinese bots, just people who have seen the image on wikipedia.

I don’t know about that, but I just love those Appalachian hills. What is their history?

  7. The left is „the city of Chongqing“, everyone’s address will start with city of Chongqing in that region.

Not everything you disagree is posted by a bot.

I can say San Bernadino County is larger than the Netherlands, and then you measured those suburbs and tell me the mojave desert doesn’t count.

  8. unintentional comedy gold lmfao

only the most brainwashed, goyed out, Westoid Redditor (slur) sees people discussing the size of Chinese provinces and thinks it’s “Chinese Bots” spreading “propaganda” 😂😂😂😂

your masters on little st James holler watching you so eagerly do their bidding

  9. I think this has something to do with the idea of a „city“

in China, a “city“ is a administrative level, a rural village would still be administratively belong to a city, all of Chongqing, urban or rural, are all under the administrative level of Direct-administered municipality of Chongqing.

  10. It’s not Chinese bots, it’s literally just a miss translation of what a city means in Chinese and English. China uses their word for municipality as a special region for directly controlled by the center government like tianjin, Shanghai and Beijing. That doesn’t mean the territory is a single city and neither does China claim to be. With in the municipality there’s actually subdivision of which one is called the urban district, that’s the city of Chongqing.

  11. I think it’s also Little Pinks, and not just bots.

Every once in a while also some of the 50 cent people (Chinese entity, not the Rapper)

  12. I did an experiment once where I said:

    >“I’m going to say something bad about China just to see how many down votes I get from the bots.

    >China is a failed state and its government is evil, and should be overthrown.“

Not surprisingly it was largely downvoted.

  13. tl;dr: westerner doesn’t understand chinese administrative structure and compares it to Austria

    daily shenanigans at r/mapporn

More interesting is the geological features that the city is built on.
