This was an entirely predictable outcome. They shipped a tool built on the plagiarized hard work of talented humans, and they’re shocked that both players and developers don’t want to touch their black-box guessing machine which could easily lead to legal trouble and cannot be protected under copyright.

What an idiot. The games industry is hungry for AI, that’s not where the hold up is. The hold up is that people don’t want to play AI slop. If you expect me to spend 69,70,80 dollars on a game I expect it to be the work of humans. If you want to shovel slop at least mark it down to $10 for deluxe slop.
AI Slop haw become a huge problem in so many hobbies. Go to Etsy where you used to be able to find good Indy sewing, knitting and crochet patterns and good luck finding non-ai generated products. People buy them and either the directions are useless or the product itself can’t actually be made, it absolutely sucks for newbies but even experienced people fall for a well done scam.
Well, maybe if it worked for things like driving conversations and environment dynamics instead of regurgitating assets people would like it a lot more.
It’s all about shareholders profit return. Nothing else.

What’s the end game? A CEO alone in a skyscraper typing „Hey GPT make a WoW clone“ and then sending it off into the world for younger generations who don’t know any better to consume?

I love that these ghouls were so enamored by the idea of not having to pay people that they sunk hundreds of billions of dollars into a toy that doesn’t work and nobody wants, and now they’re desperately trying anything to get people to use AI.
It’s like with ai generated books. Why should I spend my time with something nobody felt passionate enough about to actually create it themselves?

Didn’t have to open it to know this was a venture capital ass clown.
AI is an incredible tool, and I’m half-convinced that the western sentiment against it is, in part, online meddling in the same way Russia/China work to stoke tensions between people in the US, or to sway elections, so that they can come out ahead with the technology.
That said, the companies that want to use it to replace people that are currently employed rather than using it as a tool to enable their people to do more and/or better things is the reason that AI has failed to provide a return on investment for most companies. I don’t know why the heck they thought they could just replace people. Idiots.
