      Oh boy. Kharg Island provides a sea port for the export of up to 90% of its oil products. This is a thrust directly at their jugular.

      Will the marines have to get through the strait of Hormuz to get to Kharg island?

      Kharg island is mostly just a bunch of oil storage and pipes to load ships. Trump dirtily ordered the strikes on the island. The whole place is on fire right now. Rumor is the marines are to take this island as a buffer…….after the fires go out?

      Vast majority of reddit comments suggest the attack on Kharg will cause oil prices to spike.

      I’m not so sure. It looks more like the US pulled this maneuver to let Iran know it has the ability to completely wipe out its oil infrastructure on the island if Iran continues aggression in Hormuz.

      Seems like an attempt to get Iran to agree to a cease fire. Iran leadership publicly suggests it can close Hormuz indefinitely, but in reality, Iran still has a lot to lose if the war continues. Over 90% of Iran’s oil is processed on that island. If the infrastructure on Kharg is destroyed, Iran’s economy will be crippled and they’ll be set back several decades. I’m not sure this is a threat Iran will ignore.

      Why is 90% of Iran’s oil exporting ability on the island? This seems ludicrous They’ve got an entire Persian Gulf coastline yet I’m reading it all goes through Kharg?

      Even ignoring the war, what about accidents etc? Having 90% of your exports going through one Port just seems like the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of.

      the real war begins now. what we saw so far was a trailor.. irresponsibility and recklessness is only thing thats visible here.. my guess is us president thinks he has no third term anyway so he can be as irresponsible as he can!
