    1. Yikes that is a massive miss. Consensus estimate was +10k in February.

      “A loss of 108,000 full-time jobs — 73,000 of those in the private sector.”

      Also really concerning that it seems to be driven by full time private sector jobs.

      That’s the worst jobs report in 4 years and largest full-time employment loss since April 2020.

      In my opinion this number is expected. We are in a economic war with a country that we export most to. This economic was started by the American conservative government for no real reason.

      We need to think critically on who our American owned conservative media blames for this

    3. Almost forgot today was job number day. But that’s alot. Especially when our economy is getting threatened By our neighbours. And the rhetoric.

      The Canadian labor market is in a weird place right now where because of the immigration cuts, the number of people working has gone down just cause there’s less people. You saw this last month where there were job losses, but unemployment actually fell because all those losses were from people who left the country. For that reason I think it’s better to track the unemployment numbers than just sheer job losses going forward.
