It may be a while before they get to the bottom of this. They’re currently on hold with Telus tech support and they’ve been asked to reboot their system.

>The ShinyHunters hacking group told Reuters in a message it stole at least 700 terabytes of data from Telus.
>Samples of the data shared by the hacking group with Reuters suggest the stolen data includes information related to at least two dozen companies that included personally identifiable information, call data and recordings, FBI background check information and source code spanning multiple business divisions within the business services and telecommunications company.

„ShinyHunters tried extorting Telus in February, demanding $65 million in exchange for not leaking the company’s data; however, Telus hasn’t responded to their emails.“
Of course nobody responded to their emails. Hilarious that the hackers are frustrated with Telus‘ lack of communication.

I’m sure they actually care.

I just saw an on LinkedIn for a vibe coding(yes, they called it that) job at Telus. Filled with Buzzwords, AI hype, and generally shitting all over traditional programming work.
Expect more news like this and many more issues soon from them.

Maybe the hacker was getting annoyed with the 3 cold calls per day from random numbers trying to sell them new phones. I know I am.
