      Reminder for all the people who say we could pay for universal healthcare with all that war money:

      ***We already pay enough for universal healthcare***. Literally if we just changed the system to not make the rich richer, the current amount the average American pays into healthcare each year is more than enough. In fact you’d have to pay less. We ALREADY pay twice as much for our healthcare for some than a European country for all does. It’s a system issue not a money issue.

      Can’t all these blockchain and ai people get together and create an open source system of resource allocation and collective decision making?

      If people were actually able to exercise democratic power in questions like „so should we end homelessness or buy a 12th carrier battle group?“ I doubt most sane people would buy more guns.

      The problem is that these kinds of important questions cannot be left to the drooling masses, which if asked would prioritize healthcare, local environment, education and so on over bombs and ill-fated attempts at world hegemony.
