I think this is a scathing rebuke to Pollievre. While it may be subtle what it has shown is that not only has he shown weakness in the leadership of his own party but he has also failed to create any relationships with the other parties in parlaiment.
I know the conservatives and NDP dont see eye to eye historically but he still failed to create any sort of coalition with the bloc. I think if canadians really gave it some thought theyd realize that pollievre’s style of obstructionist politics as the opposition means he would never be able to lead a minority government. The conservative caucus really was short sighted in both their abrasive style of politics but also in reelecting Pollievre. Especially since if he does manage to get elected as priminister it would likely be as a minority. After all 2 out of the three Harper terms were minorities.

It will be interesting if we see some resignations once Carney locks in his majority. Many in the CPC signed up to be in government, and 4 years in opposition to a majority government is about as far as you can get from that. 2015-2019 was a similar situation, they had a lot of byelections, and I’m not sure this will be all that different.
