For every 1$ the price of oil goes up the Alberta government receives an additional $680M in royalties. Our deficit is quickly going to become another surplus. Last time this happened when the Ukraine war started the government was able to pay a bunch of debt down, maybe we will get to again.
Really sucks that it’s accompanied by so much death and destruction but doesn’t change the fact it will help Alberta a lot.
