Neither Stewart or Oliver needs network TV to continue to do what they do to massive audiences.
Their writing staff will go wherever they do- and both could do perfectly well generating independent online content and/or podcasting.
Besides, this Trump influenced network thing won’t last long once the Trump era is over.
Viewers who want that are dying off- and the rest of us will turn our attention elsewhere if anything stinks of Trump in a year or two.

This assumes that the issue is with them and not late night viewing habits. Both Oliver and Stewart could go independent and likely bring large audiences with them. Even Maher probably could do ok, although he’s accustomed to an old guard style of pampering he’d probably retire instead to do his worst Carson impersonation.

Eventually, all of these media companies are going to cannibalize each other as they get more and more conservative, for lack of a better word. And some capitalist liberal is going to see the opportunity and start filling the gap.
Either one of the existing companies will do an about-face because they can’t penetrate that conservative market anymore, and there’s an entire demographic they’re leaving cash on the table for.
Or some really rich person will build a vanity project from scratch.
But right now, all these companies have mergers to get approved, so it’s pandering to this administration even if it means hemorrhaging customers.

Counter-point: for Trump, the escape routes are vanishing.
