> John Clark, a victim of the 1973 Old Bailey bombing in London, Jonathan Ganesh, a 1996 London Docklands bombing victim, and Barry Laycock, a victim of the 1996 Arndale shopping centre bombing in Manchester, all **allege** that Mr Adams was a leading member of the Provisional IRA on those dates, including of its Army Council.
The headline makes it sound like this is proven, but this is just reporting on what the court has been told on day one. It’s like the British media just can’t help themselves but be misleading when it comes to Gerry Adams.

Everyone knows it but no one can prove it (and it doesn’t sound like that’s changed). Gerry was smart enough to always ensure he had plausible deniability.

What’s even the point of all this? *Everyone* knows Gerry Adams was a member of the IRA and is responsible for lots of people being killed and maimed. It’s not like this case is going to send him to jail.

Hopefully Gerry Adams will be required to inhale helium when testifying.

Horrible excuse for a human being.
It’s important to remember most of the victims were Irish citizens in Ireland. Hopefully one day there’ll be justice.

Going by the majority of authoritative accounts written years post the Troubles by various proper journos, it would appear the security services and MoD intelligence gathering elements had the Republican Movement’s number by at least the mid-80s.
Moles, actionable intelligence via signals intelligence gathering, operators on the ground etc.
Hypothetically, would be very interesting to see the possible fallout from audio (in someone’s living room – a supposed ‘safe space’) released of Gerry ordering or sanctioning something very unpleasant.

Garbage headlines that use statements from court to make them look like verdicts should be banned

Aye but we forgive and forget in this country. He was acting on sincere beliefs that are not inconsistent with our own, such as a respect for a national right to self determination for an island people, he served his cause with dignity, and the conflict is long since over.

What are the practical implications of him being found guilty? Is it just for show?

Does he still have to do the stupid voice in court?

Doesn’t he have a beard to hide the scar of being shot in the face?
Surely some kind of truth and reconciliation has to take place so we can move forward.

>Gerry Adams was “directly responsible for and complicit” in the decisions made by the Provisional IRA to detonate bombs in England, **the High Court in London has been told*“
Just in case you thought this was an actual judgement or something.
