  1. And this drives up the price of oil and gas, which benefits Russia, which has gas that it wants to sell and which has a crumbling economy from its invasion of Ukraine.

  2. >*Still, it is possible that Iranian officials could consider quietly granting Chinese ships a green light to continue operating through the strait, particularly if the conflict drags on for weeks or month*

A lot of political maneuvering going on, but even if some Chinese ships are permitted to pass (as a few have already) there is still the danger of coming under attack.

Let’s get Elon in the job. A couple of his boring machines and we can get a tunnel built lickety-split.

Genuine question cause I’m dumb. Trump said the US sank all 30 of Irans boats? Is he lying? Or can you not go through the straight for other reasons like land bases that can reach boats with missiles?

Oil prices will skyrocket. Putin will swoop in with Russian oil to save the day, from which the massive profits will be used to continue Russia’s war of expansion. Putin and Netanyahu played Trump like a fiddle.

The US ***will*** put boots on the ground in Iran over this, within weeks. The Trump regime truly doesn’t understand the decentralized power structure within Iran and thought their air campaign would be enough. A ceasefire is nowhere near, so boots on the ground and American soldiers spending their lives is what it’s gonna take to reopen the Strait.

We lost 1/5 our oil and burning through our munitions for no good reason. I swear there’s entities out there just waiting for us to expend our resources before they attack what they want.

  8. Gosh do they not trust that the dipshit in the white house will cover the losses as promised?

  9. how do people not know this is the plan? this whole boondoggle is to raise oil prices

China… that’s the point for America. They want the ability to starve China’s supply for leverage (also explains Venezuela). Israel just wants genocide so they can claim „their“lands.

I’d bet boots on the ground are to either capture the straight or capture enough nuclear related material to claim “mission accomplished”. The later won’t be good enough for Israel so assume the former. I bet the U.S. has a very thorough plan for doing so. Who knows how well it will work.

  12. yea well Iran has no reason to back down… nor can it back down because it is cornered on all sides, President can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube.

Only thing we can do is to dollar cost average our gas by filling it up every day….

But didn’t Hegseth just say, on 3/4/26:

„The Iranian Navy rests at the bottom of the Persian Gulf. Combat ineffective. Decimated. Destroyed. Defeated. Pick your adjective. Their navy – not a factor. It is no more.“

  14. Somebody in Iran has been watching/reading Dune. Oil aint’t spice, and Iran doesn’t control all of it.

But when you control the choke point for 25% of the „spice“, well, by golly, you’ve got some leverage.

  15. Great job you guys..

George Carlin was right with his 20 year cycle of war skit. He was right about a lot.

This is why I can’t understand anyone thinking Trump has this war under control. Stands to reason that if America was overpowering the regime as he said, they wouldn’t even be able to close the straight in the first place.

Not that this was ever even remotely a good idea.

The Iranian regime never had the legal or actual ability to close the Strait. It said it did and has but could not either legally or in reality.

After the attacks it still has no legal power to declare the Strait closed and even less ability to enforce its will (as its vessels have been destroyed).

Ships are not transiting the Strait because they have been told not to do so by their operators, who are responding to the actions of insurers.

Should the US navy begin escorting vessels through the strait in a convoy system provided that the US naval vessels can defend against incoming missiles and provided that transit insurance can be obtained

Evergreen, now would be the funniest thing to do again in the Suez canal.
