i don’t wanna be “that guy,” but that’s not the al-aqsa mosque. that’s the dome of the rock (which, reasonably, would be targeted too). they’re right next to each other, so it’s very easy to get them confused—plus, with how important al-aqsa is, you’d think it’s the big golden building, but it’s actually just across from it

I could absolutely see this happening; most Jews would love to see the dome of the Rock destroyed so that the third temple can be built. If they do that though, it will be WW3, all Muslims across the world will be outraged and united against the west like never before. I don’t think they would buy the story that it was Iran.

As a Muslim, I will say this now. Al Aqsa is the third most prestigious religious landmark for us after the Holy Kaaba and Masjid ul Nabwi. So there’s is no way in hell Iran will ever even think about bombing it because it will rally every Muslim around the world against them. Hope this helps.

I have also heard some speculate the third temple would be located elsewhere, at the actual true location required.

It can not be Iran because everyone knows that to build the third temple, Israel has to destroy the dome of the Rock and Al aqsa. They want it so bad, and may use the war as an excuse. But it will not fly, unfortunately. Their intention to destroy it has been out for a while now.
Iran is a muslim country, albeit Shia, and still highly regard the Aqsa as one of the most important holy sites for them, too.
