    1. **In Brief:**

      * Macdonald-Laurier Institute and Middle Eastern Forum national security analyst Joe Adam George warns that Canada is a potential hotbed for IRGC sleeper cells and proxies.
      * The IRGC, designated a terrorist organization by Canada, operates a network of sympathizers and sleeper cells within the country, targeting Iranian dissidents and potentially Jewish communities.
      * Recent incidents in Canada, including foiled attack plans, a missing dissident, and an attack on an activist’s gym, highlight the threat.
      * Experts suggest hundreds of individuals linked to the IRGC may reside in Canada, and the country’s critical infrastructure and cyber security are also at risk.
      * Canada’s designation of the IRGC as a terrorist entity has implications, but concerns remain about the pace of deportations.

    2. Honestly..the usa..can go fuck themselves..no use to Canada.. shut the oil and potash down..

I think you mean the US is going to covertly fuck with us and our sovereignty under the guise of „Iranian activity“.

    6. Just an excuse to meddle in our affairs and try and boss us around. Fuck off america. Maybe don’t go around starting wars.

    7. Wasn’t there literally Revolutionary Guard generals and their families living in Canada? Funny how they lived the privileged life without restrictions, yet their own citizens can’t.

    8. US and Intelligence in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

If alien life were to judge humanity solely of the US, they would obliterate Earth just to ensure we don’t spread a case of the stupids to infect the rest of the galaxy with MAGA seed.

    9. Just a reminder that there have been numerous reports that superiors within the US military believe the Iran war will kickstart armageddon. So that’s the kind of ‚intelligence‘ we’re dealing with.

American media uses this propaganda against every country at this point. They need to over exaggerate everything so their people believe they have casus belli. Khamenei vs Shah crime ratchet up across the globe after the US bombed Iran: oh no, it seems like the other countries have increased their crime and threatened the US.

Does anybody believe this CIA BS anymore?

Did any of you actually think about the issue at hand in this article rather then just think of some gotcha “fuck America” comment

The vast majority of Iranians in Canada are very anti-Iranian Regime.

The Pro-Palestinian crowd in Canada is wrapped in support for the Iranian Regime, Hamas, and Hezbollah. There’s enough there to be a threat to Canadians and Americans. It doesn’t take a large number, just enough of a school of fish to blend in with.

    13. Outrageous_Order_197 on

Well yeah no shit. It took until 2024 and an immense amount of pressure to get our government to declare IRGC a terrorist organization.

The US will find no greater ally in their conflict with Iran than Persians abroad. None of them support the current regime.

    15. Of course it does. From the country that blames everything on everyone else.

    16. The dozen Iranians in Canada that know (not that many mind you) were celebrating and excited for khomeni to be dusted. I think we all want to see Iran back to its progressive past, but it’s gunna be a lot of work.

This seems like just planting seeds of interfering with our lives even more.

    17. Lightingway on

Crazy because all the Iranians I’ve met in Canada hate the regime with a passion…

    18. Fearless_Attempt_360 on

Canada has IRGC related members and supporters living here. Ask any Iranian who’s supporting the war, they’ll tell you.

It’s so funny how all the comments are just instantly like “the US is lying to do bad things to us!” Which may or may not be true, but a., I wouldn’t trust the opinion of the average redditor, and b., Canada even said it’s extremely open to foreign interference in the first place.

Hell, a woman in Canada just got murdered recently due to political stuff in India. But no, Iranian influence is clearly impossible.

I mean according to this article posted on the cbc, we are also concerned with Iranian terrorist cells operating in some capacity in Canada.

I’m sure the states would handle it poorly, but it sounds like a legitimate concern.

Because Canada was so easy to come to with minimal security screening for so long, that there are bound to be nefarious elements sent here from many countries, (such as china or India) as they have strong interest in spreading their tendrils to western nations.

So let’s see, first Venezuela, starve Cuba, bomb Iran because he had a “feeling” does anyone actually think this guy is of sound mind. WAKE UP AMERICA.

    22. AirMinute7060 on

Well it’s nothing new, Canada has always been a place where sleeper cells are located. Heck I’ve seen countless news about this during the last decade and people simply shrug it off.

    23. And America isn’t? There is no city on the planet (outside of Iran) that has more Iranians than Los Angeles. And it’s not just LA.

Texas, New York and the DMV have huge Iranian communities.

    24. Birdybadass on

It’s a reasonable assessment considering there are pro-ayatollah protests planned in several major cities.

    25. I graduated from Concordia, most of my engineering TAs were grad students from Iran. Coincidentally, Space Concordia is the most successful university rocketry club in Canada.

    26. Even if it were true, we get to handle it ourselves. The US should stay the fuck out.

    27. Past-Fun430 on

This has been pointed out by our own intelligence agencies (CBSA/CSIS) for quite awhile now, and to no one’s surprise, nothing is done about it 😒🤣

    28. burnabycoyote on

Worthy of a novel, if Graham Greene hadn’t already written one with this plot – probably read by the guy collecting money for his reports.

„Iranians are operating their own underground communication network codenamed Uber, and have been observed picking up packages codenamed Donair with messages written on sheets of bread that are eaten by recipients after reading.“

    29. Yah. You think!? Have y’all been to the North Shore lately? Half of Lonsdale is Iranian money exchanges.
