      > U.S. investigators believe hackers affiliated with the Chinese government are responsible for a cyber intrusion on an internal Federal Bureau of Investigation computer network that holds information related to some domestic surveillance orders, according to people familiar with the matter.

      > The scope and severity of the intrusion aren’t known, and the investigation is in its early stages, the people said. Any preliminary conclusions could change as investigators gather more information.

      > If China is confirmed to be responsible for the breach, it would signal the latest intrusion by Beijing’s hackers of computer systems related to law-enforcement surveillance orders, which contain highly sensitive material.

      > A notification sent in recent days to some lawmakers in Congress said the FBI began investigating the matter last month, the people said. The intrusion involved hackers accessing an unclassified system that contains information about the calls and internet activity of criminal suspects and others under government surveillance. Information in the system includes incoming and outgoing calls, IP and website addresses and some routing information, but doesn’t include the contents of calls or digital communication.

    2. > It allowed Chinese spies to access vast quantities of U.S. customer call data, the unencrypted private calls and texts of at least scores of high-value individuals, including President Trump

Remember when one of the first things Trump’s new CIA director John Ratcliffe did was [send the White House a list of newly hired CIA employees in an unsecure email](https://newrepublic.com/post/191201/cia-national-security-crisis-email-list-trump-white-house)?

Remember a time when Tom Cruise needed to break into the CIA headquarters for that kind of information?

Foreign intelligence really have it easy these days with the Trump administration. Thanks MAGA and non-voters for placing us in this position!

You know what’s sad about this?

Having Trump in the White House is still even bigger problem/threat than this is.

    4. Turns out gutting the United States cyber security programs have consequences.

U.S. can not afford to go to war with China bc of shit like this. Best they can do is trick the gullibles into voting for them every election cycle while these guys come online to shout every time.

This will compromise politicians for decades. Some of them will be working for China from now on.

Iran, China, what is Kash doing? It sounds like their firewalls are more open than Biden’s borders.

ohno, will they get Kristi and Cory’s mile high video? Sorry, I’m just having a hard time caring right now.

Cons will just say “we’re spying on them too” but would have lost their minds if this happened under Biden or Obama

So if we make committing espionage against the US so easy, then presumably other foreign intelligence agencies will become lazier over time??

Oh no! Our government spying on our people is now being spied on by another government! How fucking tragic.

We need more Epstein files. Release them and let the public see everything. We need to know whether there are other “Epstein islands” out there. Other countries would use those files to attack their opponents, while the FBI seems more interested in covering up the truth.

The GOP is a national security threat.

We need to use whatever means we have to prevent them from ever taking power again.

Look at the damage around us. This is the GOPs endgame. This is what their trifecta looks like.

Hey remember when Trump dismantled the team responsible for these kinds of cyber crimes then cut funding by half and told everyone there was no threat to cyber security?

I really don’t care. Kash is AWOL, probably in Valhalla or something, while the Orange Moron seeks deeper into dementia.

It’s only a matter of time before a nuke flies.

Not going to work on Monday.

I’m pretty sure the entire intelligence network is completely compromised at this point in time.

Who even knows who’s holding the keys to anything anymore I doubt anything is actually secure.

Something that never made a lot of noise was after the first time Trump was elected a lot of field agents got assassinated.

      Coincidence doubt it
