As a former Conservative I see this 100%. I was a parliamentary staffer and would often suggest some government bills were totally fine and the CPC should support. The response I would get is that the LPC are bad actors and everything they do cannot be trusted.
I will also say I saw a lot of anti-democratic nonsense from the LPC in committees especially, but overall the CPC was the worst for refusing to consider compromise.
Compromise doesn’t bring donations in. Compromise doesn’t bring votes (as they believe).
