This is exactly how every single Japanese website looks like. Who in their right mind looks at products at rakuten and think ”ah yes, 7 full screens worth of scrolling through hyper-compressed jpgs of random angles of the product that tells me roughly fuckall about the item I’m trying to buy, with zero uniformity of how to list sizes, dimensions, etc., exactly what I want”.
Hardly limited to Japan unfortunately. Japanese web design is a thing to behold and absolutely brain breaking to the western mind, but the new plague of infinite pop ups is as bad as 1998.
